Truly Happy Autumn

One thinks of cool breezes, the scent of smoke from fire places, and leaves falling gently from above. Today was not so, except for the leaves. I am still sweating.

But I started thinking about my leaves. They are really lovely and I would like to preserve them, so I went in search of instructions. There are many methods, but I like this idea for preserving the leaves with wax paper.

Here is how it is done:
  1. You will need a dry iron, a towel, a fair amount of wax paper, and your leaves.
  2. Heat the iron to a medium dry heat setting (in other words, do not use steam).
  3. Cut two pieces of wax paper into a reasonable same size.
  4. On one piece of wax paper compose your leaves so that there is plenty of room around the edges of each leaf. It is this space that allows the leaves to be sealed in and secured.
  5. Place the other sheet of wax paper on top of the composition.
  6. Cover the wax paper with the towel.
  7. Iron over the towel (this helps the wax paper not to stick to the iron).
  8. Then trim it to your liking.
