Anticipating Fall

Goodbye summer. Hello autumn. It only seems appropriate to celebrate this time period of browns, oranges and of course reds. Interestingly enough when I thought about celebrating the Fall Equinox, one calendar mentions that the first day of Autumn is today, so I planned accordingly. However, I have since learned that the Equinox is actually on the 23rd...so this is then just a prelude.

Wondering what is so special about the Fall Equinox? I did. Is it just a day? A pagan holiday? What?

According to infoplease.com the autumnal (and vernal) equinoxes happens when the Sun is vertically above the equator. This is a time when the day length is the same all over the world.
